Rational Thought, Subbed Out
We recently made a twist on the Rational Thought cocktail created by the renowned bartender Devon Tarby from Death & Co. Instead of her original recipe, and we had to experiment with some substitutions and creative freedom because we didn’t have everything the recipe called for on hand. We now call the cocktail “Rational Thought, Subbed Out” because of the various substitutions we had to make. We gave it all a good shake with ice cubes from our trusty shaker and served it up in a chilled coupe glass. It went down smooth, with the sweetness from the syrup complimenting the sour from the lime juice and the complex notes of the cognac rounding everything out nicely. With every sip, Rational Thought, Subbed Out brought us the warmth we were craving on a cold winter day.
